In Cavum

M Galleries | Washington, NJ | Oct. 2020

This body of work explores the desire to enter into a deeper relationship with the natural world by any means necessary - crawling into holes, dissolving into clouds, closing the distance between human and wild spaces. These ambiguous areas compel me to enter, and I am left to imagine how I might change or transform if I allow myself to be subsumed. As you view the work, I encourage you to picture a place you know that you could enter to feel one with nature, and imagine getting closer and closer by degrees. What sounds do you hear? What do you smell? Are you curling up, or spreading out? Are we going willingly, or are we falling in?
