Multiverse

M Galleries | Washington, NJ | Oct. 2018

In comics, fantasy, and science fiction, it's understood that other worlds exist beyond our own. Often in stories, these other universes are accessed through nature. Characters may stumble upon them deep in a forest, behind a waterfall, or through a hole in a tree trunk. Like those characters, I also feel closest to something otherworldly and strange when surrounded by nature. In this body of work, I offer a variety of potential landscapes drawn from New Jersey locations, the more faithful versions layered with the more fantastical. Each suggests a place where the barrier between us and the rest of the multiverse is thinner than usual.
